Der Pavo-Indus-Superhaufen ist ein benachbarter Superhaufen des Virgo-Superhaufens (in welchem die Milchstraße liegt). Er enthält drei Hauptgalaxienhaufen: Abell 3656, Abell 3698 und Abell 3742.[1]

Weitere Gruppen und Galaxienhaufen im Superhaufen sind die NGC 6769-Gruppe und Abell S805.[2][3]

Im Jahr 2014 wurde bekanntgegeben, dass der Pavo-Indus Superhaufen Teil des Groß-Superhaufens Laniakea ist, in welchem sich das Zentrum des großen Attraktors befindet. Der Virgo-Superhaufen befindet sich ebenfalls in diesem Groß-Superhaufen, wodurch dieser zum lokalen Groß-Superhaufen wird.[4]

The Pavo-Indus Supercluster is a neighboring supercluster located about 60–70 Mpc (196–228 Mly)[3][2][4] away in the constellations of Pavo, Indus, and Telescopium.[5] The supercluster contains three main clusters, Abell 3656, Abell 3698, and Abell 3742.[6]

Сверхскопление Павлина — Индейца (англ. Pavo-Indus Supercluster) — близкое к Млечному Пути сверхскопление галактик, находящееся на расстоянии около 60-70 Мпк[3][2][4] в направлении созвездий Павлина, Индейца и Телескопа[5].
