José Miguel Rodríguez Espinosa is the current General Secretary of The International Astronomical Union (IAU). Espinosa is a Spanish astronomer working in particular in the field of active galaxies, star formation and the high redshift universe as well as in instrumentation. From September 1, 2019, to 2021, he was the Assistant Secretary General of the International Astronomical Union, replacing Ian Robson.[1] He is the Secretary General of the Union for the 2021-2024 triennium.[2]

José Miguel Rodríguez Espinosa est un astronome espagnol travaillant en particulier dans le domaine des galaxies actives, de la formation des étoiles et de l'univers à haut redshift ainsi qu'en instrumentation. Il est, du 1er septembre 2019 à 2021, le secrétaire général assistant de l'Union astronomique internationale[1], en remplacement de Ian Robson, qui avait dû quitter son poste pour raisons personnelles avant la fin du triennat 2018-2021[2]. Il est le secrétaire général de l'Union pour le triennat 2021-2024.
