LHS 292 ist ein Roter Zwerg im Sternbild Sextant. Mit einer scheinbaren Helligkeit von 15,8 mag ist er viel zu lichtschwach, um mit dem bloßen Auge gesehen werden zu können. Der Stern liegt mit 14,8 Lichtjahren relativ nah zu unserer Sonne. Er ist ein UV-Ceti-Stern[5], d. h. er kann plötzlich für kurze Zeit an Leuchtkraft gewinnen.

LHS 292 is a red dwarf in the constellation Sextans. It is far too faint to be seen with the unaided eye and requires a large amateur telescope to be seen visually. It lies relatively close to the Solar System at a distance of about 14.9 light years. It is a flare star, which means it can suddenly increase in brightness for short periods of time.

LHS 292, también conocida como GJ 3622 o LP 731-58,[1] es una pequeña estrella situada a algo menos de 15 años luz del sistema solar en dirección a la constelación de Sextans. Es una enana roja de brillo muy débil y magnitud aparente +15,60. Las estrellas más cercanas a LHS 292 son Ross 128 (FI Virginis) y DEN 1048-3956, respectivamente a 5,8 y 7,1 años luz de distancia.[2]
