Омикрон² Большого Пса (лат. ο² Canis Majoris), 24 Большого Пса (лат. 24 Canis Majoris), HD 53138 — одиночная переменная звезда в созвездии Большого Пса на расстоянии (вычисленном из значения параллакса) приблизительно 2800 световых лет (около 800 парсека) от Солнца. Видимая звёздная величина звезды — от +3,05m до +2,97m[5]. Возраст звезды оценивается как около 7,4 млн лет[6].

Омикрон² Большого Пса — бело-голубой сверхгигант, пульсирующая переменная звезда типа Альфы Лебедя (ACYG) спектрального класса B3Ia[5][7][8][9]. Масса — около 21,4 солнечных, радиус — около 65 солнечных, светимость — около 220000 солнечных. Эффективная температура — около 15500 К[10].

Omicron2 Canis Majoris (ο² CMa, ο² Canis Majoris) is a star in the constellation Canis Major. Since 1943, the spectrum of this star has served as one of the stable anchor points by which other stars are classified.[3] It has an apparent visual magnitude of 3.043,[2] making it one of the brighter members of the constellation. The distance to this star is roughly 2,800 light years (800 parsecs), with a 34% margin of error.[1]

Ómicron2 Canis Majoris (ο2 CMa / 24 Canis Majoris / HD 53138) es una estrella en la constelación de Canis Major de magnitud aparente +3,02. Comparte la denominación de Bayer Ómicron con la estrella ο1 Canis Majoris, visualmente 2 grados al oeste. Aunque físicamente no están relacionadas al hallarse separadas al menos 70 años luz, se piensa que las dos nacieron en el mismo complejo de gas y polvo interestelar. Ambas estrellas parecen formar parte de una amplia asociación de estrellas O y B, que también incluye a Wezen (δ Canis Majoris), denominada Collinder 121.
