NGC 6055 is a barred[2] lenticular galaxy located about 450 million light-years away[3] in the constellation Hercules.[4] The galaxy was discovered by astronomer Lewis Swift on June 8, 1886.[5][6] It also a member of the Hercules Cluster[7][8] and is a LINER galaxy.[9]

NGC 6055 ist eine 14,1 mag helle Linsenförmige Galaxie mit aktivem Galaxienkern vom Hubble-Typ SB0 im Sternbild Herkules am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 510 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 150.000 Lichtjahren. Die Galaxie gilt als Mitglied des Herkules-Galaxienhaufens Abell 2151.
