(780) Armenia es un asteroide perteneciente al cinturón de asteroides descubierto el 25 de enero de 1914 por Grigori Nikoláievich Neúimin desde el observatorio de Simeiz en Crimea. Está nombrado por Armenia, una antigua región de Asia entre los mares Caspio y Negro.[2]

(780) Armenia ist ein Asteroid des Hauptgürtels, der am 25. Januar 1914 vom russischen Astronomen Grigori Nikolajewitsch Neuimin in Simejis entdeckt wurde.

780 Armenia is a minor planet in the asteroid belt orbiting the Sun. It is named after the Kingdom of Armenia, now Armenia. This object is orbiting at a distance of 3.11 AU with an eccentricity of 0.097 and a period of 5.50 yr. The orbital plane is inclined at an angle of 19.1° to the plane of rotation.[2] This asteroid spans a girth of ~94 km. The long rotation period of this asteroid necessitated light curve data from more than one latitude. The overlapping data provided a solution with a period of 19.891±0.002 h and a brightness amplitude of 0.18±0.03 in magnitude.[3]

(780) Армения (арм. Հայաստան) — астероид главного пояса, который был открыт 25 января 1914 русским астрономом Григорием Неуйминым в Симеизском обсерватории Пулковской обсерватории и назван в честь Армянского государства, а точнее исторического региона в западной Азии юго-востоку от Чёрного моря и юго-западу от Каспийского моря, где находилось Анийское царство, а ранее Великая Армения[1].
