HD 26764 (HR 1314) is a solitary[9] star located in the northern circumpolar constellation Camelopardalis. It has an apparent magnitude of 5.19, making it faintly to the naked eye if seen under ideal conditions. The star is currently situated at a distance of 266 light years[1] but is drifting closer with a heliocentric radial velocity of 3.0 km/s,[6] which is poorly constrained.

HD 26764 has a stellar classification of A2 Vn, indicating that the object is an A-type main-sequence star with broad (nebulous) absorption lines due to rotation.[4] At present it has 2.78 times the mass of the Sun[7] and 3.2 times the Sun’s radius.[8] It radiates at 94.12 solar luminosities from its photosphere at an effective temperature of 9,825 K,[7] giving it a white glow. HD 26764 is a young star with an age of 169 million years and spins rapidly with a projected rotational velocity of 228 km/s.[7]
