NGC 4634 is an edge-on barred spiral galaxy[4] located about 70 million light-years away in the constellation of Coma Berenices.[5] NGC 4634 was discovered by astronomer William Herschel on January 14, 1787.[6] It is interacting with the spiral galaxy NGC 4633.[5] Both galaxies are members of the Virgo Cluster.[7][8]

NGC 4634 ist eine 12,7 mag helle spiralförmige Zwerggalaxie mit ausgedehnten Sternentstehungsgebieten vom Hubble-Typ SBc[2] im Sternbild der Haar der Berenike am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 11 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 10.000 Lichtjahren. Die Galaxie bildet mit NGC 4633 das gravitativ gebundenes Paar Holm 445 und wird unter der Katalognummer VVC 1932 als Teil des Virgo-Galaxienhaufens gelistet. Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich u. a. die Galaxien NGC 4611, IC 3637, IC 3658, IC 3735.
