NGC 4781 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo. It was discovered by William Herschel on Mar 25, 1786.[3] It is a member of the NGC 4699 Group of galaxies, which is a member of the Virgo II Groups, a series of galaxies and galaxy clusters strung out from the southern edge of the Virgo Supercluster.[4]

NGC 4781 ist eine Balken-Spiralgalaxie mit ausgedehnten Sternentstehungsgebieten vom Hubble-Typ SBcd im Sternbild Jungfrau auf der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 52 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 60.000 Lichtjahren. Gemeinsam mit NGC 4784 bildet sie das Galaxienpaar Holm 483.
