NGC 4871 is a lenticular galaxy located about 310 million light-years away[2] in the constellation of Coma Berenices.[3] NGC 4871 was discovered by astronomer Heinrich d'Arrest on May 10, 1863.[4] It is a member of the Coma Cluster.[5][6]

NGC 4871 ist eine 14,2 mag helle linsenförmige Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ S0 im Sternbild Haar der Berenike am Nordsternhimmel und etwa 301 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt. Sie gehört zum Coma-Galaxienhaufen und wurde am 10. Mai 1863 vom deutsch-dänischen Astronomen Heinrich Louis d’Arrest entdeckt.[3]
