NGC 717 is a lenticular galaxy located 210 million light-years away[2] in the constellation Andromeda. The galaxy was discovered by astronomer Bindon Blood Stoney on October 28, 1850[3] and is a member of Abell 262.[4][5][6]

NGC 717 ist eine Linsenförmige Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ S0/a im Sternbild Andromeda am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 228 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 85.000 Lichtjahren. Die Galaxie ist Mitglied des Galaxienhaufens Abell 262. Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich u. a. die Galaxien NGC 708, NGC 709, NGC 710, NGC 714.
