NGC 622 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Cetus about 234 million light-years from the Milky Way. It was discovered by British astronomer William Herschel in 1785.[5]

NGC 622 ist eine Balken-Spiralgalaxie mit hoher Sternentstehungsrate vom Hubble-Typ SBbc[2] im Sternbild Dreieck am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 233 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 110.000 Lichtjahren. Im selben Himmelsareal befindet sich u. a. die Galaxie IC 145.- [en] NGC 622
