NGC 4482 is a dwarf elliptical galaxy located about 60 million light-years away[3] in the constellation Virgo.[4] NGC 4482 was discovered by astronomer William Herschel on March 15, 1784. It was rediscovered by astronomer Arnold Schwassmann on September 6, 1900 and was listed as IC 3427.[5] It is a member of the Virgo Cluster.[6]

NGC 4482 = IC 3427 ist eine elliptische Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ E4 im Sternbild Jungfrau an der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 81 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 45.000 Lichtjahren. Die Galaxie ist unter der Katalognummer VCC 1261 als Mitglied des Virgo-Galaxienhaufens gelistet.
